What do you like? I like a good curry and a mouth burning gin’n'tonic. Not together. That’d just be weird. Being a music student, I love music. I’ll give most things a shot. My flatmate says that I specialise in listening to bands with ridiculous names…Make of that what you will. I like music with a cracking guitar line, a pounding bass line and a drum beat that makes your feet tap insistantly. Music aside, I enjoy walking aimlessly around Edinburgh, having a ‘quiet’ one down the pub with friends, organising my shelf in the fridge, cooking and dancing whenever and wherever I fell like.
What don’t you like? Three things: Music genres. Don’t get me started on them. None of this “That album sounds like a prog rock electro baroque fest don’t you think?”. Fuck off quite frankly. People who walk slowly and not in a relatively straight line. One day I’m just going to push you over. Learn to walk at a decent speed or STAY OFF THE STREETS. People who listen to so called “dance” music on their MP3 players on the bus. Ever heard of tinnitus?
Favourite colour? Pink.
Favourite book? “Lynch on Lynch” edited by Chris Rodley. David Lynch is a fascinating man…If I was to choose an actual reading book with a story, I’m going to have to say “One Fine Day In The Middle Of The Night” by Christopher Brookmyre. Genius.
Your idol is: I have many but 3 that are worth mentioning are: Nigel Osbourne, my lecturer in composition at University. He’s met so many amazing people during his life and done so many wonderful things with his life…A true inspiration. The boys in Muse. Have to give them a mention. The music that Matt, Dom and Chris create as Muse inspired me to be where I am today. Mum. She’s a legend.
The song you’re most likely to play is: “La Nuit” by Robots in Disguise. A band that have only recently been introduced to me by a man who will remain shrouded in mystery. This song just makes me want to get up and dance…Hopefully others will also get that desire!
